Seventy males Wistar rats at eight-month-old were divided into 7 groups, a baseline group (bl), sham-operated (sd), orchiectomized (orx) group (od), orx injected with exogenous estrogen 2.5 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u03bcg \/KgBW\/day (oe), orx receiving YCJ at 10, 20 and 40 mL\/kg\/BW (oy10, oy20 and oy40, respectively) for ten weeks. After sacrificed, the stomach, small intestines and colon were removed, fixed and paraffin embedded, section slides for CB, VDR, ER\u03b1 and ER\u03b2 immunohistochemistry. The results showed that CB, VDR, ER\u03b1 and ER\u03b2-ir cells had higher number in almost all parts of GI tract compared to the control (sd and od) groups. This study demonstrated that the YCJ had beneficial effects in increasing the number of the CB-ir and VDR-ir cells via the estrogen receptors in the gastrointestinal tract of orchiectomized rats resulted in increasing calcium uptake into the body. All together the present results implied that YCJ might act like SERMs (selective estrogen receptor modulators), resulted in preventing or reducing risk of osteoporosis in male rats. The optimal dose of this study was \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 10 mL\/kgBW\/day which is equal to 1 fresh young coconut juice (500 mL) for an adult (50 kg) consumption per
