their relationship to develop the guideline for Shari&#8217;ah governance in HIFs in Thailand. The researcher used Mixed Methods research to investigate those objectives. In-depth interviews and focus group were used as qualitative methods on 25 board exercutives and senior officials from 12 Islamic cooperatives to identify the Shari&#8217;ah governnce awareness. The questionnaire was used to collect quantitative data from 200 sampling from those HFis to identify Shari&#8217;ah governance practices and awareness.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"line-height: 1.2; text-indent: 36pt; text-align: justify; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.999999999999998pt; font-family: Kanit,sans-serif; color: #000000; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\">The researchers had verified the validity and reliability of both qualitative and quantitative research instruments. The content validity and reliability of the questionnaire was verified by Index of Congruence (IOC) from experts and Cronbach&#8217;s Alpha correlation coefficient, respectively. In addition, Triangulation was used as a qualitative research strategy to test credibility of the data. The ethical principles for research involving humans were used thoughout the research period. In qualitative analysis, the researchers used content analysis to find the linkage between the elements of Shari&#8217;ah governance awareness. In quantitative analysis, the researchers used descriptive statistics such as frequency, percentage, means, median, mode and standard deviation. Correlation Coefficient and Linear Regression Model were also selected to analyze the relationship between Shari&#8217;ah governance practices and awareness.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"line-height: 1.2; text-indent: 36pt; text-align: justify; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.999999999999998pt; font-family: Kanit,sans-serif; color: #000000; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\">The results show that those Halal financial institutions had a high level of awareness on the Shari&#8217;ah governance as follows: 1) They understand the Shari&#8217;ah risks through academic consultations. Due to awkward corporate culture, this understanding may not be suited to the dynamic business contexts and modern financial transactions. 2) They have plan and policy on Shari&#8217;ah governance. The awareness of risk management is quite high. 3) The training styles are diversified. 4) The activities to enhance awareness has varied, but lack of proper indicators and evaluation tools. On the other side, Shari&#8217;ah governance practices is at the high level. The confidentiality of the organization is the most priority, followed by the Shari&#8217;ah examiner competency, disclosure and transparency, accountability, and the independence of the Shari&#8217;ah board, respectively. Nevertheless, there are three different types of Shari&#8217;ah governance structures in HFIs: the internal Shari&#8217;ah committee, the mixed Shari&#8217;ah committee, and the Shari&#8217;ah advisory board.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"line-height: 1.2; text-indent: 36pt; text-align: justify; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.999999999999998pt; font-family: Kanit,sans-serif; color: #000000; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\">Furthermore, the relationship between Shari&#8217;ah\u00a0 governance awareness and practices is positive at a moderate level. The most important awareness factors affecting the Shari&#8217;ah governance practices are the Shari&#8217;ah governance apprication in planning and training courses on Shani&#8217;ah governance. These are the approach that HFIs should focus on. Shan&#8217;ah governance awareness should be raised along with the implementation of Shari&#8217;ah\u00a0 governance practices. Finally, the Shari&#8217;ah\u00a0 governance guideline and the central Shari&#8217;ah council are strongly needed to be the guidance, direction and advisory for HFIs.<\/span><\/p><div><span
