On February 17, 2025, from 09:30 AM to 04:00 PM,Halal Institute of Prince of Songkla University, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Asman Taeali, Director of Halal Institute, presided over the opening ceremony of the 1st Halal Science Workshop. The workshop was attended by 108 students from Islam Wittayanukroh School, Chana District, Songkhla Province, covering grades 8, 9, 10, and 12. The training provided students with knowledge on the following topics: 1. Theoretical lecture on science and demonstration of pork contamination detection using the PCR technique (Agarose Gel Electrophoresis process) by Dr. Naeem Madsahri, Lecturer at the Halal Institute. 2. Pork contamination detection using Lateral Flow test kits by Ms. Nureehan Saleh, Research Officer. 3. Workshop on food additives in halal products by Ms. Pattama Kraisutrung, Educator. The event was held at the Halal Institute, Hat Yai Office.
On January 28, 2025, at 11:00 AM, Halal Institute of Prince of Songkla University, led by Assistant Professor Dr. Asman Tae-al, Director of Halal Institute, along with staff members, paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Mohammed Abdullah Mahmoud Al-Khoeeji, Acting Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Thailand, at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain in Bangkok. The purpose of this visit was to discuss cooperation on halal matters between the Halal Institute of Prince of Songkla University and the Kingdom of Bahrain, particularly in the areas of halal standards development, halal product research and development, and halal product trade promotion. Both sides discussed ways to promote cooperation and agreed to exchange knowledge and experience in halal matters to further strengthen their capabilities. This courtesy visit to the Acting Ambassador of Bahrain to Thailand is an important step in strengthening halal cooperation between Thailand and the Kingdom of Bahrain, which will lead to the sustainable development of the halal industry in both countries.
The Director of Halal Institute of Prince of Songkla University assigned Dr. Orawit Boonchom, Deputy Director of Halal Institute for Research, Academic Services, and Special Affairs, along with Ms. Asanee Wangpittaya, Higher Education Academic Officer, and Ms. Sanura Dona, Educational Academic Officer, to participate in the MBM Business Forum 2025 between January 22, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Al-Meroz Hotel, Bangkok. Participating in the MBM Business Forum 2025 is considered a good opportunity to build networks that will work together in the future on halal matters.
